Slated for Mention · 2007-05-29 19:39

Arthur Allen, author of the absorbing Vaccine: The Controversial Story of Medicine’s Greatest Lifesaver, describes my recent research and writing in Thimerosal on Trial: The Theory That Vaccines Cause Autism Goes to Court (published yesterday in Slate). Anticipating hearings in the Omnibus Autism Proceeding, scheduled to begin on June 11, Allen traces the courtroom and publishing careers of plaintiffs’ expert Mark Geier and his son, David, and their recent pharmaceutical experimentation on autistic children — experimentation enabled in large part by the “foxhole bonds” created by the escalation of litigation in which they are key players. If only I could summarize the story of the “Lupron Protocol” so well. Thanks, Arthur!

  1. Hey! Arthur Allen has good taste in sources. Slate has good taste in writers, too. Now if only the FDA would act on the Geier abuses (like the use of Androcur which is not FDA approved at all in the US) and if the Medical board would pull a certain bozo’s license, that would help.
Also, if insurance companies would quit paying the bill for the Geier prescriptions, ... how stupid can people be? Really stupid, I guess.

  3. And it’s not like the FDA, the Maryland medical board, and the insurers don’t know about Geier. They share some blame here.
